Is That So?

Master Haquin was a very pure Buddhist.

One day, his neighbors accused him.

“You fathered our daughter’s baby.”

“Is that so?” Master Haquin replied.

He gained a baby to take care of,

and lost his reputation.

A year later,

The neighbors returned and offered him their deep-felt apologies.

They asked for the baby back.

Master Haquin offered the baby and replied,

“Is that so?”
